Experience King Charles III’s Coronation Footsteps at Westminster Abbey in London

Westminster Abbey in London has announced an exciting opportunity for tourists this summer to follow the coronation footsteps of King Charles III. For the first time in living memory, visitors will have access to an area sealed off to the public, allowing them to experience the historic moment when the King is crowned on May 6 at the church.

As part of unique tours to be conducted in the weeks following the coronation ceremony, visitors will have the rare chance to walk on the “Cosmati Pavement” near the High Altar, where the Coronation Chair will be placed for the service. This pavement has never been in view to the public and is usually only accessible to the clergy.

Vanessa Simeoni, the head conservator at the Abbey, stated, “For the first time in known history, this pavement will be on view and used for a coronation. It is such a rare opportunity, and visitors can experience it by taking off their shoes and walking on the Cosmati Pavement.”

Take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the historical moment of a King’s coronation at Westminster Abbey. Book your special tour now and walk in the footsteps of King Charles III.
